Demand resolution condemening Abiy ahmed ali of ethiopia

My name is <Full Name> lives in <your address>. I am a member of Amhara Association of Chicago (AAC) which is a legally registered civic association in Illinois since 2022. AAC is established to organize ethnic Amhara into a strong and vibrant community of Chicago and its suburbs capable of contributing to the Amhara people in Ethiopia through education, communication, advocacy, and diplomatic pressure. 

The Ethiopian government, led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, has been committing crimes against its own people, the ethnic Amhara, since April 2023 just because of suspicion of the Amhara people not supporting his government. Amharas living in the capital city of Addis Ababa have been detained and tortured on suspicion against the government. Amharas living in its own Amhara region have been killed by government deployed armed forces into the region and by drone strikes. His forces in the Oromia region along with the Oromo Liberation Army have killed thousands of Amhara civilians and displaced over 1 million from the Oromia Region. Abiy Ahmed Ali’s armed force is actively and indiscriminately profiling, imprisoning, killing and disappearing Amhara citizens, journalists, politicians, civic leaders, and activists.

I am asking my representative to issue a statement condemning Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and demand the State Department hold perpetrators accountable and stand on the side of innocent victims. In addition, I would like my representative together with the city council to pass a resolution condemning the government of Ethiopia for atrocities being committed against the Amhara people.
